Weekly Update

We have a rather busy week of activities ahead of us, all capped off by Prom on Saturday!

We have some junior high students who will be participating in the State Invent Iowa Competition this Thursday at the University of Iowa Memorial Union. These students are: Addison Meese, Taylor Morgan, William Trabal-Kierscht, Shelby Cody, Karigan Pries, Emily Perkins, Kaelynn Driskell, Olivia Brandt, Levi Wright, Kyle Kesterson, Tanner Smith, Malea Moore, and Chloe Rusten. Students will have an opportunity to advance even further to the National Invention Convention held in Washington D.C. at the United States Patent and Trade Office. Good luck to all of them!

With a throw of 165-07, Sam Phillips recorded the 13th longest discus throw in the state this year among all classifications. This means he has earned the honor to compete at the Drake Relays this weekend. Sam will throw in the first flight Friday morning at 9:00 am. Congratulations Sam!

We had a couple of other athletes barely miss out on qualifying for the Drake Relays. Parker Powers was 0.24 seconds away from qualifying in the 110 meter high hurdles. Bailey Hauschild is tied for 24th among all classes in the high jump with a personal best of 5-03. They take the top 24 in every field event, and Bailey only missed out on getting to compete based on a tie-breaker technicality.

Twitter
Another way to stay up to date with things happening with activities is through social media. Being on twitter doesn't mean you ever have to tweet, but Twitter is one easy way to get updated information.
Once you follow an account, you can choose to get notifications from the app every time they tweet, and you can even sign up for text message alerts of new tweets.
We have created an FM Activities Twitter account for you to follow in order to get up-to-the-minute alerts and notifications of scores and other school announcements. @FMCSDKnights

The Cube (Live Streaming)
